Dear Erasmus and Exchange students,
We are glad to propose you a really interesting visit that is a unique opportunity!!
It is a visit to a service for elderly persons, that works really well and is an example of effective and good education.
Casa Verdi is a retirement home for musicians or singers «that are in a poor situation», founded by Giuseppe Verdi the 16 dicembre 1899 and located in Milan, Piazza Buonarroti;
“LIving at Casa Verdi it is not as living at another retirement home.
People do not live “at” Casa Verdi, but they “live Casa Verdi” in many ways, even just listening to the story of their life, private or public life, that can be heard in the aisles of this building.
Music is what connects all the guests and is one of their main activities, performing individually or giving lessons to younger students.
But there are many other activities that they can do during their day: atelier of painting or knitwear, flower composition or jewellery, even writing for the newspaper La Voce."
It is an excellence in this field!!
Inside of the building there is also the grave of the famous composer Giuseppe Verdi, to whom the structure is dedicated.
After the visit, we will be able to share some time with the elderlies, the break time, during which we can listen to their story, share a smile and, why not, play cards with them!

Vogliamo proporvi una visita davvero interessante e un’opprtunità unica!
Si tratta di vedere e visitare un servizio per la terza età che funziona bene e che accoglie in modo efficace e adeguato alcuni anziani.
Casa Verdi è una casa di riposo per cantanti e musicisti «che si trovino in povertà», fondata da Giuseppe Verdi il 16 dicembre 1899 e situata Milano in piazza Buonarroti;
"vivere a Casa Verdi non è come vivere in una qualsiasi casa di riposo per anziani.
Gli ospiti non vivono “in” Casa Verdi ma “vivono Casa Verdi” in molteplici modi, anche solo ascoltando le molte storie, di vita sia privata sia pubblica, che si possono sentire tra i corridoi di questa residenza.
La musica, che accomuna in qualche modo tutti gli ospiti, è tuttora una delle loro principali attività, svolta per proprio conto o dando lezioni a giovani studenti.
Ma tra le diverse attività a cui gli ospiti si possono dedicare durante la giornata ci sono anche gli atelier di maglieria e pittura, i laboratori sull'arte della composizione floreale o di gioielli di bigiotteria, fino alla redazione del periodico La voce."
Si tratta davvero di un’eccellenza in questo ambito!
All’interno della struttura si trova anche la tomba dell’illustre compositore Giuseppe Verdi, a cui la struttura è dedicata.
Dopo la visita, sarà possibile fermarci a fare merenda con gli anziani, per condividere questo momento con loro, farci raccontare la loro storia, regalargli un sorriso e ,perchè no, fare una partita a carte con loro!
